I had a passive income business making me money after a lot of upfront work but it collapsed. The collapse was due to my service never giving enough value to customers. I managed to sell a big chunk of it during the beginning of the collapse to diversify out of it but the rest of it became worthless. I basically had to start over so it's no different than real work.

Diversification is huge. The feeling of security you get is then what allows you to go heads deep on building up another income stream and scale without fear of putting your eggs in one basket or things not working out when you try something new.
Passive income on rental properties. Most of it go right back into maintenance. Plumbing, painting water bill, lawn maintenance. That is if you take care of your property.
