Passive Income: 4 million in CD Savings or US Treasury Bond are 3% easily, low risk, will always pay you $120,000 a year without ever touching principle. You don't have to do ANYTHING and get paid. This will give you complete freedom to do whatever you want in life, without having to worry about survival (food, shelter, healthcare costs). Yes you will lose to inflation over time, but you are still making money doing whatever the heck you want to pursue, which is all bonus money to leverage further.
I do agree with you that everything else is not passive income, but to say it is a myth…. I don't agree with that because of my simple example above.

Passive income certainly can exist – in specific contexts. Of course you have to put work in, but once the work is done, money is passively made. This doesn't mean that you don't have to manage it, you certainly have to sustain its income generation.
For example, holding an index fund and actively putting $100/month will yield passive income growth. Having affiliate links in all your Youtube videos will yield passive income, after the video has been uploaded (i.e, the work has been done).
When you make money in your sleep, in a sense that's passive income. You do the work, then money passively generates. Periodically (sometimes, often) you will have to sustain it, but it can still be defined as passive.

Thank you for setting the record straight! I wasn't able to admit to myself that passive income isn't really passive, until I watched this video. Business is like growing your own food. Almighty programmed the fruit tree with the ability to eat and grow, and protect itself from certain things that will threaten it's survival. It's automated, passive. But a man must still actively participate in the fruit tree's growth. He must stilll work to provide the nutritional soil the tree needs, he must water it regularly, he must ensure that it gets adequate sunlight, etc. if he desires for the tree to grow to maturity. Everything else is automated.

I would like to start a business , but my parents don't agree with me , I'm 17 and Going to finish GED in 2 years time and i don't have alot of connections or money and I'm kinda lost , I'm still working on myself and thinking of ways to make my dreams reality but how do i do it with all that i have right now? I live in South Africa and I'm going to America after my GED where should i start?
True! In online affiliate business, we don’t have to sit and wait to earn money. As for me, it took me years to learn and work for it. Thus, we really need to strive hard and execute for our success and earn loads of money in the future!
